Help make mental health care a priority.
Every day, three Ohioans take their own lives. Every 12 minutes, an American commits suicide. The nation’s mental health experts believe more than 1 million Americans attempt suicide each year. But our country’s emergency departments and insurance plans are not equipped to meet all of the needs of those with mental health issues that can lead to suicide. Some of our most vulnerable people are falling through the cracks. Ohio State has integrated mental health care into the broader healthcare system and is working to help those with mental health issues.
Your gift to The Ohio State University Psychiatry Center of Excellence Fund helps fill the gaps in mental health care, opening new possibilities for patients. Specialists at Ohio State Behavioral Health and the Ohio State Department of Psychiatry, part of the Wexner Medical Center, help patients better understand their conditions, thoughts, feelings and behaviors. Ohio State offers personalized, compassionate care for patients with mental or behavioral health conditions – care they wouldn’t otherwise receive. Your contribution makes better treatment possible for patients, helping them build productive, positive lives.
