Marion County's bachelor degree attainment rate is less than half of state and national rates.
Lower rates of higher education result in lower family incomes and higher poverty rates. Ohio State Marion’s GoBuck$ program rewards Marion County K-12 students with tuition certificates for good attendance and achievement. Students can collect those vouchers and later use them toward an Ohio State education. GoBuck$ brings an awareness of the value of higher education and accessibility to many families where college has not been part of the discussion or family tradition.
When you give to the Lowe Marion County GoBuck$ Endowment, your dollars will work in perpetuity to provide GoBuck$ tuition vouchers for students in each of Marion County’s school systems. By growing the endowment, we can expand the grade levels in which GoBuck$ vouchers are awarded. Since the program began in 2010, more than 200 Marion County students have used their GoBuck$ certificates to become Ohio State Marion students. With your support, we can make sure every Marion County student, at every grade level, has an opportunity to start earning their way toward becoming a Buckeye.
A special thanks from Ann Lowe, who helped establish the Lowe Marion County GoBucks$ endowment!
