Questions and Answers

Below you will find answers to many common questions about Ohio State Day of Giving.

What is Ohio State’s Day of Giving?

Day of Giving is an inspiring 24-hour event for alumni, students and friends to come together and support Ohio State. On February 28, Buckeyes can give back and pay forward in support of their favorite cause, college or program. We encourage you, Buckeye Nation, to show your selflessness and support. You’ll impact Ohio State, our students and our future in limitless positive ways.

When is it?

Day of Giving will take place Wednesday, February 28, 2018 through 12 p.m. EST on Thursday, March 1, 2018.

Why should I participate in Day of Giving?

When Buckeyes come together, great things happen. By giving back or paying forward in support of your favorite cause, college or program at Ohio State, you are making a profound difference in the Ohio State community and around the globe.

How do I donate?

Make a gift online at dayofgiving.osu.edu on February 28.

When the campaign is live, you can click the "Give Now" button at the top of the website. If you've reached this page before or after the campaign, please click here to make your donation.

What will my donation fund?

It’s up to you! You may designate any area of the university that is important to you. Whether your heart is with your college or school or you have an interest in a specific research initiative or student program, you are free to choose what your gift supports. When you make your gift, you can select from a list of colleges, schools and units.

What if I don't see my area of interest?

If you are not able to find the fund you would like to support, please select the cause, college or program of your choice, and select "Other" in the Fund Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.

How can I make a greater impact by becoming a Buckeye Leader?

Buckeye Leaders support Day of Giving by donating a leadership-level gift of at least $1,000 to support a challenge pool. These funds will be distributed to colleges, schools, units or student organizations as rewards for winning various challenges throughout the Day of Giving campaign. Become a Buckeye Leader and extend the impact of your gift by inspiring other Buckeyes to invest in the areas they love most at Ohio State.
