Be a champion for Mansfield Campus students in need
At the beginning of the 2020-21 academic year, 36 percent of first-year students at The Ohio State University Mansfield campus were eligible for federal Pell Grants. But many students who do not qualify for these grants are still struggling financially. For those students and their families, the cost of college can be challenging or even unattainable.
While students finance their college education in a number of ways—including part-time jobs, financial aid or loans—scholarships play a critical role in ensuring access and affordability.
The Mansfield Campus General Scholarship Fund provides scholarship dollars for students who are not Pell-eligible but in good standing and exhibit financial need. Through this scholarship, we make sure these students get the support they need to pursue their degrees.
Your gift is a direct and effective way to help students enroll and stay enrolled in college. Because of your generosity, Ohio State Mansfield students will have less financial stress and can ultimately perform better academically. They will know that Buckeyes like you care, want them to succeed and might even inspire them to give back in the future.
“The scholarships I received allowed me to reduce the number of hours I needed to work during school, which gave me time to focus on my studies,” said J.C. Mangan, a sophomore business major. “I hope to someday be in a similar position to pay it forward.”
Mansfield Campus has a first-year retention rate of 70.5%, one of the highest in the state for open-access college campuses. It also has a 71.9% retention rate of first-generation college students. These extraordinary numbers are due in large part to scholarships.
When it comes to helping our students succeed, Buckeyes make it a team effort. We believe in the power of education and the profound impact it has on our local community and beyond. By investing in a student’s future, you are directly contributing to their success and upholding the values and traditions of Buckeye Nation.
