Age-Friendly Columbus & Franklin County at the College of Social Work
Central Ohio’s 65+ population is expected to double in the next 35 years. While some might view this as a problem, we see this is as an incredible opportunity for community transformation. Supported by the College of Social Work, the Age-Friendly Columbus and Franklin County is a priority outreach initiative to improve the quality of life for all ages across our community. Age-Friendly is not an innovator of products, but rather an innovator of human experiences.
This program includes and empowers older adults and people living with disabilities by infusing their knowledge, experiences and behaviors into future innovations. We know that solutions are only successful when every voice, regardless of age, ability, income, race or zip code, is a part of the creation and implementation.
Your gift to the Age-Friendly Columbus and Franklin County Fund will help us expand and enhance our inclusion and innovation efforts in the community. From improving mobility and housing options to positive aging campaigns: with your help, we can make a great impact in our community.
The work of Age-Friendly Columbus and Franklin County is a process of listening, planning and implementing improvements to our community. These changes range from policy and programs, like zoning and social connections, to quick action and tangible products, like supplying iPads and data for free digital libraries at older adult housing complexes. At Age-Friendly, we have the privilege of listening to the challenges our community members face and collaborating with them to bring solutions to reality.
The experiences, choices and voices of older adults are driving real community change. Be a part of the change that will be felt for years to come by contributing to Age-Friendly Columbus and Franklin County!
