Support our students, the future of medicine
The cost of medical education continues to rise as many Ohio State College of Medicine students face more than $170,000 of debt upon graduation from medical school. An affordable education is a top priority for prospective students. The College of Medicine needs the support of our Buckeye community to provide affordable and accessible education so we can welcome, with open arms, the most promising students pursuing a career in medicine.
Otherwise, a looming debt bill might impact students’ specialty choice by opting for a specialty that requires additional training and education in the hopes of a higher paying career. And prospective students may choose fields outside of medicine to simply ensure a lifestyle they can afford. Just think, those students could have been the first college graduates in their family and the first to pursue medicine, the next physicians to cure cancer, make a life-changing discovery, or improve the lives of the community.
How can you help? Pay forward for today’s Buckeye physicians-in-training! Your support will recruit the best and brightest minds to The Ohio State University College of Medicine.
