Empower our Law Students

As the need for effective leadership continues to grow, the preparation and education of a new generation of skilled leaders begins at the Moritz College of Law. Student scholarships are critical to advancing this mission, and making a legal education accessible. These scholarships are made possible through the generous gifts of our alumni and friends.

Scholarships enable the Moritz College of Law to attract gifted students who may not have otherwise been able to consider a degree in law, due to financial strain. Through the transformative gift of scholarships, the Moritz College of Law can fulfill its mission of preparing the next generation of skilled legal experts and community leaders.

Under the leadership of Dean Alan C. Michaels, the college has consistently made scholarships its number one fundraising priority. In recognition of this priority, a group of Moritz College of Law alumni have established the Alan C. Michaels Endowed Scholarship.

Provost Bruce McPheron is proud of the precedent that Dean Michaels has set for significant student support. “Under Alan’s leadership, the College of Law has been a national exemplar of the path forward for legal education,” said the Provost.  The Alan C. Michaels Scholarship was established as a way to honor the impact of his leadership and to further our focus on student scholarships.

You can support students by giving to the Alan C. Michaels Endowed Scholarship which will supply need-based scholarships in the amount of half-tuition annually for students from diverse backgrounds. The impact of this support is life changing for students, many of whom would otherwise have never been able to pursue a law degree.
As he completes his final year in leadership, Dean Michaels continues to make student scholarships his top fundraising priority. “Student scholarship support makes a crucial and undeniable difference in the lives of our students. Students who would have otherwise been unable to pursue a legal education now have the opportunity to achieve a law degree without undue financial burden. I am so grateful for the support of our loyal donors.” Alan C. Michaels, Dean
