What is Ohio State’s Day of Giving?

Day of Giving is an inspiring 24-hour event for alumni, students and friends to come together and support Ohio State. On Friday, March 22, Buckeyes from all over will come together to help Ohio State tackle the local and global challenges that affect us all. Save the date to join us for the most remarkable 24 hours of the year.

What will my gift fund?

It’s up to you! You may designate any area of the university that is important to you. Whether your heart is with your college or school or you have an interest in a specific research initiative or student program, you are free to choose what your gift supports. When you make your gift, you can select from a list of colleges, schools and units.

When is it?

Day of Giving will take place Friday, March 22, 2019.

Can I make a monthly gift?

Yes. Monthly giving is an easy, automatic way to support The Ohio State University. It is convenient, customizable, and environmentally friendly, and it helps ensure a steady source of funding for The Ohio State University. You can set up your monthly gift by credit card now, or the next time you make an online donation, choose “MONTHLY” from the “Frequency” section of our gift form. Why should I participate in Day of Giving?

When Buckeyes come together, great things happen. By giving back or paying forward in support of your favorite cause, college or program at Ohio State, you are making a profound difference in the Ohio State community and around the globe.

What other ways can I get involved?

Help us spread the word! We have only 1 day, and we want to reach as many Buckeyes as possible. Use your social media channels to help bring awareness to this event. How do I make a gift?

Make a gift online at on March 22.

When the campaign is live, you can click the "Give Now" button at the top of the website. If you've reached this page before or after the campaign, please click here to make your donation.

How can I make a greater impact by becoming a Buckeye Leader?

Buckeye Leaders support Day of Giving by donating a leadership-level gift of at least $1,000 to support a challenge pool. These funds will be distributed to colleges, schools, units or student organizations as rewards for winning various challenges throughout the Day of Giving campaign. Become a Buckeye Leader and extend the impact of your gift by inspiring other Buckeyes to invest in the areas they love most at Ohio State. If you are looking for a specific fund and don't see it, please check here.

What if I don't see my area of interest?

If you are not able to find the fund you would like to support, please select the cause, college or program of your choice, and select "Other" in the Fund Designation drop down menu, and type in the program and/or fund name you wish to support. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. Gifts are 100 percent tax deductible. After you make your gift, you will receive a confirmation email that can be used for tax purposes.

Are international gifts accepted? 

Yes, The Ohio State University Foundation accepts international gifts via credit card or check.

When will my credit card be charged? 

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site.

Will my gift count towards Alumni Association Sustaining Membership, President’s Club, and other Ohio State donor recognition programs?
