What is the Ohio State Day of Giving?

Day of Giving is an inspiring event for Ohio State’s alumni, students and friends to come together and support current and future generations of Buckeyes. Join us on Tuesday, May 3, and make an impact by contributing to scholarships.

When is it?

Day of Giving will start Tuesday, May 3, 2022, and last for 24 hours, ending at 11:59 p.m. ET Tuesday, May 3, 2022.

Why should I participate in Day of Giving?

On this Day of Giving, alumni, family and friends of Ohio State will join together to support scholarships and work toward our inspiring goal — to create more opportunities for students to earn their degrees, debt-free.

How do I make a gift?

Make your gift here on May 3, 2022!

When Day of Giving starts, you can click the "Give Now" button at the top of the website. If you've reached this page before or after the campaign, please click here  to make your donation.

Can I make a monthly gift?

Yes. Monthly giving is an easy, automatic way to support The Ohio State University. It is convenient, customizable and environmentally friendly, and it helps ensure a steady source of funding for Ohio State. 

You can set up your monthly gift by credit card now, or the next time you make an online donation, choose “MONTHLY” from the “Frequency” section of our gift form. If you have further questions, please contact us.

How can I make a greater impact by becoming a Buckeye Leader?

Buckeye Leaders support Day of Giving by donating a leadership-level gift of at least $1,000 to support a challenge pool. These funds will be shared as rewards for winning various giving challenges throughout the Day of Giving campaign. Become a Buckeye Leader and expand the impact of your gift by inspiring other Buckeyes to invest in Ohio State students. To learn more about becoming a Buckeye Leader, please contact us.

Are you staff or faculty? 

If yes, you may choose to make your gift via payroll deduction.

What other ways can I get involved?

Help us spread the word! We want to reach as many Buckeyes as possible. Use your social media channels to help bring awareness to Day of Giving. For an easy way to share the event, you can become an ambassador here.

Do you accept matching gifts?

Yes. Click here to find out if your employer has a matching gift program.

What if I don't see the fund I want to support?

If you are not able to find the area you want to support, type it in as "Other" on this form or search funds and make your gift here. We will ensure your gift is designated appropriately.

Is my gift tax deductible?

Yes. Gifts are 100 percent tax deductible. After you make your gift, you will receive a confirmation email that can be used for tax purposes.

Are international gifts accepted? 

Yes, The Ohio State University Foundation accepts international gifts via credit card or check.

When will my credit card be charged? 

Your credit card will be charged immediately upon finalizing your gift on the site.

Will my gift count towards Alumni Association Membership, President’s Club and other Ohio State donor recognition programs?

Yes. Your gift will be applied to your giving at Ohio State and our recognition programs. Learn more about Alumni Association Membership and President’s Club.
