Cancer touches every community — but not every community has equal access to prevention, screening, or care. At the College of Public Health, our researchers are working to change that.
From increasing cancer screenings in rural areas to eliminating barriers for those at high risk of breast cancer, and uncovering the causes of gynecological cancer disparities, our work is driven by one goal: to prevent cancer before it starts.
But we can't do it alone.
Empowering the Next Generation of Cancer Researchers
Your gift to the Cancer Research Student Support Fund (316407) directly supports students who are passionate about cancer prevention and equity. These scholarships allow students — regardless of financial background — to work alongside our expert faculty in research labs, contributing to groundbreaking studies and gaining hands-on experience that shapes their future.
Why It Matters
- Advance life-saving research in cancer prevention and health equity.
- Support students who bring fresh ideas and energy to our labs.
- Build a pipeline of future research leaders committed to making cancer history.

Researchers at Ohio State’s College of Public Health are ensuring fewer people are diagnosed with cancer, and that those who have cancer find out early, when treatment is most successful. Our public health experts are focused on health equity and reducing disparities in screening, diagnosis and treatment. They are working to increase cancer screenings in rural areas, eliminate obstacles to preventive care for people at high risk of breast cancer, illuminate the drivers behind gynecological cancer disparities, prevent lung and other cancers brought on by tobacco use, and more.
