Supporting this fund means investing directly in student success by helping them navigate challenges, build healthy habits and thrive both in and out of the classroom.
Why Your Gift Matters
At Ohio State Lima, the Counseling and Consultation Services team, or LCCS, provides a wide range of services that combine prevention, outreach and individualized care. This three-pronged approach allows the center to meet students where they are and intervene early, reducing the likelihood that challenges become barriers to learning.
To meet these rising needs, the Ohio State Lima Health, Wellness, and Recreation Fund supports a range of critical services, from individual counseling to wellness programming and preventative outreach. These services help students build coping strategies, manage stress, navigate academic challenges and connect with campus resources.
Impact in Action
Student wellness is a foundational part of a successful college experience. Each semester, Ohio State Lima provides approximately 100 psychotherapy sessions to over 30 students, with 52% of these students being first‑year Buckeyes who are navigating the significant transition into college life.
Your gift helps ensure that students have timely access to counseling, preventative education, wellness programming and peer support. Initiatives like National Depression Screening Day, which reaches about 144 students annually, connect students to care quickly—over half of those identified as needing additional support schedule an appointment the very same day.
