The Campus Corner Student Food Pantry provides essential food, hygiene products and supplies to Ohio State Newark students. Food insecurity is an increasingly widespread challenge impacting college student success. With the help of this food pantry, not only are these students’ stomachs fuller, but their futures are full of potential.
Why Your Gift Matters
With tuition, fees, textbook costs and living expenses, it has become increasingly difficult for students to juggle the costs of living with the costs of obtaining a degree, and thus many students are finding themselves choosing between essentials such as food and the costs of college. Additionally, food insecurity is linked to lower grades, higher stress, and academic withdrawal, making donor support vital.
Impact in Action
The pantry served nearly 1,600 students last year, totaling more than 19,000 meals, which is double the number of students served the prior year. Demand for pantry services has continued to grow, and donations directly expand the pantry’s ability to support students balancing academic, financial and personal challenges.
