College of Public Health
Taking Buckeye voices to Washington D.C.

Help students experience public health advocacy in action.

Featured Fund for Day of Giving

The Washington D.C. Student Travel Fund provides students with immersive advocacy and policy experiences, including congressional visits and conversations with national public health leaders. This high-impact learning opportunity is made possible entirely through donor support.

Why Your Gift Matters

Our next Washington D.C. trip is in May 2026, so there’s time to help sponsor this year’s group of students. This is a program vital to College of Public Health students’ understanding of advocacy and policy, which is important to the field now more than ever. This experience is at no cost to students and is only made possible through gifts from our alumni and donors.

Impact in Action

Because 24% of College of Public Health students are first-generation, this trip broadens perspectives and expands professional networks.

“Public health is a verb — this trip crystallized that sentiment for me through every conversation with alumni and advocates. Their winding career paths, from idealistic students to pragmatic changemakers, shared one truth: what we learn in classrooms only matters if we use it,” says ZiLin Chen, an undergraduate student majoring in public health sociology.
