Together, we can meet Buckeyes essential needs so they can prioritize their education.
Featured Fund for Day of Giving
The Office of Student Life’s Monda Student Resource Center opened in April 2025 to provide holistic support for students’ essential needs in a centralized location. The Monda Student Resource Center Fund helps provide this incredible resource — a one stop-shop, giving students access to food through the Student Food Pantry; hygiene products and professional clothing from the Reid Family Career Closet; and emergency grants. Donations to this fund help with the Center’s many operational needs, including its abilities to: maintain an accessible and convenient on-campus location within the Younkin Success Center; provide students with professional clothing and personal care products like shampoo, soap, deodorant and toothpaste; and offer students nutritional products purchased from campus and community partners.
Why Your Gift Matters
Completing college has a broad impact on an individual’s long-term success, well-being and happiness. Unfortunately, essential needs insecurity — around things like food and housing — often impacts a student’s ability to thrive in college. Students may struggle to succeed because everyday needs like food, housing or clothing are not met. Your gift to the Monda Student Resource Center Fund can help. When you give to this fund, you help Buckeyes access timely and seamless essential needs support.
Impact in Action
It’s hard to concentrate on statistics when your stomach is growling. It’s hard to ace a chemistry exam on an empty stomach. A donut for breakfast doesn’t take your far. In Ohio State’s 2024 Student Life Survey, 32% of students noted they have experienced food insecurity. The survey also noted that the Student Food Pantry had 8,458 visits — indication that for many students on campus, hunger is a daily reality.
Food insecurity affects academic performance, physical and mental health, and the sense of belonging that makes college life meaningful.
This past August and September alone, there were 813 unique visits to the food pantry, and 930 unique visits to the Monda Student Resource Center. When you give to this fund, you impact each and every life these numbers represent, helping Ohio State to meet an ongoing need across campus.
