Ohio State Mansfield
Creating spaces where students thrive

Your support refreshes and reimagines student-centered spaces at Ohio State Mansfield, creating vibrant places for connection and belonging.

Featured Fund for Day of Giving

The Mansfield Campus Building Fund fuels small-scale renovations and special projects allowing Mansfield to innovate without waiting for major capital projects. Ovalwood Hall, the main academic home for classes at Mansfield, turns 60 this fall, and creating modern spaces where students can actively engage and collaborate academically is vital. From STEM study lounges and collaboration zones to refreshed first-floor public spaces in Ovalwood Hall, this fund brings the unmistakable Buckeye feel to the place where students learn and build community.

Why Your Gift Matters

With strong enrollment and a growing campus culture, this flexible fund is the fastest way to transform high-impact spaces, focused on Ovalwood Hall for its 60th birthday. This ensures Mansfield students have an environment that inspires success, pride, and a deep sense of belonging.

Your gift creates immediate, visible improvements that support group learning and connection including:

  • Upgrades to shared study spaces and open collaboration areas in the first floor of Ovalwood
  • Modernized instructional and adjacent collaboration areas support small-class, high-touch learning
  • Strategic renovations to “right-size” rooms and enhance flexibility for emerging or expanding academic offerings in biology and life sciences

Impact in Action

A recent renovation in Conard Hall turned an underused classroom into a modern STEM Student Lounge, directly adjacent to three redesigned engineering technology classrooms. Since opening in 2023, the space has transformed student-to-student and student-faculty collaboration in engineering technology, instantly becoming a hub of engagement and belonging at “Buckeye North.”  It is so popular, that more spaces for other majors is needed.

Faculty reflections:

“Students feel like they finally have their own space. They meet there between classes, study together and even stop by my office when they have questions. The branding, colors, and student photos make us all feel more connected to Ohio State.”

"We host Biology Club meetings in the lounge every week. Students bring lunch, share ideas and use the flexible seating for hands-on activities like making Valentine’s Day cards for Richland County foster kids. The informal environment makes collaboration easier than a classroom.”
